Recycling Bins
Recycling bins for your business
You'd be hard pressed to miss the headlines and how high profile the topic of recycling has become. It seems to be subject for debate on a daily basis. The amount of waste that is being sent to the landfill is having a hugely negative, and dramatic affect on the environment.
It's easy to make a small change to the way in which you deal with waste, both at home, in your office or business. These small changes can however add up to make a massive difference to the planet, in a good way!
So, what can you do to help improve the way in which you dispose of your unwanted things?
Firstly, you could try to identify the types of rubbish that you create on a day to day basis. Often these are segregated into several groups. Probably the easiest and most widely recycled is glass. Glass banks, more commonly known as bottle banks, can be found in supermarket car parks, as well as at your local recycling centre.
Many City councils and local council bin collections include glass now too so you don't even need to leave your premises to jump onto the recycling bandwagon. Bin collections do vary so it's always wise to double-check with the refuse collection authorities in your are to ensure you're armed with the most up-to-date accurate information.
Another type of material that is widely recycled, with waste bins especially designed to collect it, is cardboard and paper waste. Recycling bins are often colour-coded to help you know at a glance which product to drop into which vessel. You'll almost certainly have seen the green circular arrows recycle logo which is often printed onto waste receptacles suitable for your recyclables.
Recycling bins from ESE Direct come in a wide range of different shapes and sizes. If you're after something that will squeeze into small areas, such as beside a worktop or behind a door we have slim bins designed to do just that. One of our favourites is the pedal recycling bin, which has a choice of two or three individual compartments inside it. An excellent option for use as a kitchen bin to convenient allow you to recycle whilst cooking. Why not use one section for all your fruit and vegetable peelings, a bit like your very own miniature compost bin.
Our bins are made from varying materials ranging from plastic, including fire-resistant plastics, through to stainless steel. Stainless steel is a great choice if you like to add a touch of long lasting bling to your environment.
If you're regularly creating a large amount of waste, investing in a wheeled bin would be a logical investment. We can supply bins with wheels which make moving them around your business premises quick and easy.
If you're after a complete recycling solution for your business you could opt for one of our family packs of four wheelie bins. You can go for the 120 litre or 240 litre version dependent on the amount of rubbish your company produces.
Why not choose recycling sacks, an alternative to the traditional bin
Recycling sacks are not to be confused with bin liners or those rather more robust garden waste and rubble sacks. No, recycling sacks are used independently from litter bins.
They work a bit like a giant pouch. Made from hard-wearing waterproof polyester they can be tied to pretty much anything. But if you're not quite so adventurous as to mount one on a lamp post, rather like a modern installation, there are slightly more subtle intended locations for them.
If you're in need of a bag to collect your waste in on the move, you're in luck. The TrolleySack is specifically designed to attach to post and mailroom trolleys. One of the most popular Recycling sacks is that which can be trussed onto a roll cage. This removes the need to carry extra bins or bags along with you so all you need to do is focus on your roll container.
RackSack recycling sacks are by far the most versatile available. Hang them on the end of runs of racking in your warehouse for the ultimate solution to collecting warehouse waste.
Another great thing is that they are off the floor, keeping floor space free. It also reduces the risk of loose bin bags getting caught in passing machinery such as forklift trucks. And of course, removes any risk of potential trip hazard. That'll keep your Health and Safety Officer happy!
So when looking to order recycling sacks, look no further than right here at ESE Direct.
Ensure your recyclables are clean, dry and loose
With all recycling, be it tin cans, yoghurt pots of paper waste, it's important to ensure that it is clean, dry and loose. Baked bean cans still containing a bean or two or a ready-meal carton with cheese stuck around the edge can be enough to contaminate an entire load of recycling. This can mean it is rejected by the refuse depot and the whole lot sent back to landfill. *sad face*. Nobody wants to be responsible for that now do they!
Pots and cans are usually easy to clean and the sooner you clean them after use, the easier it is. There's no need to run a load of extra water for your washing of your recyclables either, simply chuck in your empty coke cans and tuna fish tins at the same time as you would do your regular washing up. That is of course unless you're lucky enough to have a dishwasher. It's probably best not to pop your plastic pots and fizzy drinks cans into those!
Many of these bins are in stock for delivery within 1-3 working days so you'll be happily saving up and segregating your waste before you know it.
The continuing upward trend for recycling and the need to recycle and reuse will be one to sustain for a long time to come. So, stock up on your recycling equipment now at ESE Direct.
