Protect your home or business from flash flooding, storms and other flood damage with this clever alternative to traditional to traditional sandbags

Traditional sandbags are heavy, bulky, dirty and generally awkward to handle. Our portable sandbags are lightweight, portable and compact and can be deployed in minutes and disposed of easily.

The bags change from being as light as a pillowcase (200g) to as heavy and secure as a sandbag (20kg) within a few minutes

The semi-porous inner liner within the bag contains a gelling polymer which absorbs water to become taut in just over 3 minutes. Once the water is absorbed it is held within the bag adding weight which ensures the bag stays in place and keeps the flood water out.

Flooding can cause a hazard to road users, so to alert to the danger it could be a good idea to pop a couple of flood road signs in the vicinity.

Free UK mainland delivery on orders over £50 ex.VAT.

Orders under £50 ex.VAT - £5.95 delivery charge.

Postcode exceptions: HS, KW, ZE, IV, AB, DD, PH, PA, GY, JE, IM, BT, Isle of Anglesey, Isle of Wight and Eire.

Standard deliveries are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm to the GROUND FLOOR or KERBSIDE only (unless previously agreed in writing).
We are unable to confirm exact delivery times, but we can usually confirm a day if you let us know in advance.

Saturday deliveries, timed AM or PM or above ground floor deliveries are available at extra cost.
Oversized products requiring a crane or hiab offload may incur an additional charge.

During these unprecedented times, occasionally we are experiencing unexpected delays. If you have not received your item within the lead time shown please contact us and we will look into it as a matter of urgency.

At the time of delivery

An authorised person must be present to sign for delivery.
Failed attempts may result in a return delivery charge.
A request to leave goods without signature is entirely at your own risk.

Please check your delivered goods carefully.
ESE Direct cannot accept claims for shortage or damage after goods have been signed for.
The only exception is proof of a carrier note that is marked as damaged.
We must also be notified in writing within 24 hours of the delivery.
Please do not sign for any goods as 'unexamined' or 'unchecked' as carriers will not accept liability for any subsequent damage.

Q. Hi, We plan to use these externally for the duration of any flood then plan to put away ready for another day. So the question is how many times can we reuse them?

A. We do not recommend re-using these sandbags as floodwater is often contaminated.

Q. It states these are guaranteed for 1yr. How long do they store for, for instance if I purchased and stored away in dry location would they still be ok for use say after 5yrs time?

A. Yes, if they are stored in the original packaging in a dry location they will still be suitable for use.

Q. I want to create a permanent barrier against a stream that floods occasionally, are the alternative to sandbags long lasting?

A. Due to the biodegradable nature of these sandbags they will not offer a permanent barrier.

A. As nearly all flood water is contaminated it not advisable to reuse due to potential health problems.
