Eye Protection in the Workplace

Eye protection is an area which requires special attention, there are certain situations that pose more of a risk to eye injury and employers must do all they can to ensure their employees' eyes are protected.

Investigations have shown that 90% of eye injuries could have been avoided if the worker was wearing the correct PPE, eye protection should be good quality, well-fitting and should not limit vision. The provision of suitable eye protection, together with appropriate training and signage to remind workers of the need to wear protection is a simple and cost effective investment way of meeting an employers legal obligations.
