Hi Vis Workwear
Hi Vis clothing is the opposite of camouflage clothing, however, soldiers are now commonly seen wearing both at the same time. Supplied work wear should take into account ambient and artificial lighting conditions particularly weather such as mist and fog and rain and snow. Hi-vis clothing should be of a colour that allows the wearer to stand out against the ambient background, this usually will be fluorescent yellow or orange with reflective strips. High visibility clothing should be comfortable and fit the wearer properly allowing the wearer to move without restriction. The style should be carefully considered depending on the environment, for example loose fitting vests may catch on moving machinery and coats too hot in foundries, equally, for outside work insulated or rain resistant garments will be better suited.
Certification
EN ISO 20471 2013 & BS EN 471 Depending on the minimum area of conspicuous and reflective materials that are incorporated into the clothing, Class 3 being the best and Class 1 the lowest. The standard gives specifications for coveralls, jackets, waistcoats, tabards and trousers.
