Defibrillators should be a common occurrence in all shopping centres, schools, large office buildings and warehouses. 7 million people a year die from cardiac arrest worldwide and every minute that passes before a defibrillator is used, decreases the likelihood of survival by 10%. If a defibrillator is used within the first minute of cardiac arrest, the survival chance can be as high as 90%, but that drops to as low as 16% after 5 minutes.
These defibrillators are easy to use, giving you instructions in a calm voice, guiding you through each step of how to use the unit. It self tests daily using a 9v battery to prevent draining of the main lifesaving battery, to make sure that it is always working correctly and ready for use. The unit has been tested to military standards, with sturdy rubber side bumpers, allowing it to stay strong if dropped, while the strong exterior protects the unit from dust and water damage.
The bright yellow design means that the defibrillator is easily noticeable in an emergency and with its lightweight design and carry handle, it can be transported as soon as possible to the casualty. Adult defibrillation pads are pre-connected, to save time in an emergency, however child electrode pads are also available.
