Understanding Markings for Chemical Resistant Gloves
EN3741 - This standard specifies the demands of the requirements for a glove to protect against dangerous chemicals and micro-organisms. Minimum of 6 chemicals have been tested against for Type A and the following letters list chemicals the gloves protect against. The shortest allowable length that is liquid tight shall also correspond to the minimum length of the gloves as specified in EN 420:2003 + A1:2009
- Type A: Withstands a breakthrough time of at least 30 minutes (level 2)
- A: Methanol
- J: n-Heptane
- K: Sodium Hydroxide 40%
- L: Sulphuric Acid 96%
- M: Nitric Acid 65%
- N: Acetic Acid 99%
- O: Ammonium Hydroxide 25%
- P: Hydrogen Peroxide 30%
- T: Formaldehyde 37%

Glove size guide
To find your glove size, measure around your hand with a tape measure across your palm. You should use your dominant hand, the right if you are right-handed, and the left if you are left-handed.
If you need to convert your glove size, use the following general information:
- Medium: 8 (203-229mm)
- Large: 9 (229-254mm)
- Extra Large: 10 (254-279mm)
Understanding markings for EN388:2016 4.1.3.1.X
Tested for the following: Abrasion Resistance (cycle), Blade Cut Resistance (coupe test/index), Tear Resistance (newton), Puncture Resistance (newton) Scale of 1-4.
4: Dependent on the number of turns until a hole appears in the material
1: A knife is passed over the glove material until it cuts through
0: The force required to tear the glove material apart is measured
1: Based on the amount of force required to puncture the material with a tip
X: Not tested or not applicable

Free UK mainland delivery on orders over £50 ex.VAT.
Orders under £50 ex.VAT - £5.95 delivery charge.
Postcode exceptions: HS, KW, ZE, IV, AB, DD, PH, PA, GY, JE, IM, BT, Isle of Anglesey, Isle of Wight and Eire.
Standard deliveries are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm to the GROUND FLOOR or KERBSIDE only (unless previously agreed in writing).
We are unable to confirm exact delivery times, but we can usually confirm a day if you let us know in advance.
Saturday deliveries, timed AM or PM or above ground floor deliveries are available at extra cost.
Oversized products requiring a crane or hiab offload may incur an additional charge.

Lead times are displayed in working days, which excludes weekends & bank holidays.
During these unprecedented times, occasionally we are experiencing unexpected delays. If you have not received your item within the lead time shown please contact us and we will look into it as a matter of urgency.
Stock levels change daily, if you have a specific delivery requirement please contact us and we will do our best to help.
At the time of delivery
An authorised person must be present to sign for delivery.
Failed attempts may result in a return delivery charge.
A request to leave goods without signature is entirely at your own risk.
Please check your delivered goods carefully.
ESE Direct cannot accept claims for shortage or damage after goods have been signed for.
The only exception is proof of a carrier note that is marked as damaged.
We must also be notified in writing within 24 hours of the delivery.
Please do not sign for any goods as 'unexamined' or 'unchecked' as carriers will not accept liability for any subsequent damage.

Nobody is perfect, unfortunately damages & mistakes happen.
