Locate bridge plates into a hinge rail fixed to the loading dock for easy storage and quick deployment
Aluminium hinged bridge plates are used to bridge a gap or height difference between a vehicle and a loading bay. The plates make loading and unloading from the rear of a vehicle or from a loading bay easier and faster.
Hinged bridge plates are fixed to the loading dock by a hinge rail (HRCF-1) and act rather like a drawbridge, lowering when required to lay flat over a gap or height difference between a vehicle and the loading bay. Depending on the length of the hinge rail, one or more hinged plates can be fitted and slid sideways into whatever position is required. The smallest standard bridge plate dimensions are 1,524mm wide x 510mm long, while the largest standard plate is 1,220mm wide x 1,280mm long.
It is recommended that these hinged bridge plates are protected from knocks by purchasing and fitting the dock bumper ref. TWB-1018-6. Other dock bumpers are also available, but they need to measure at least 150mm in depth to be suitable. The hinged bridge plates are designed to be stored vertically, using the locking clamp provided or lowered against the dock face.
Standard size hinged bridge plates are listed above. However, it is possible to have them custom made to suit an individual customer’s specifications.
