Pallet decking provides that extra support to your pallet racking in the form of crossbars on the wire and wooden decks. They sit nicely on top of your beam levels to hold it in place when pallets, boxes or any other stock gets placed on top. Pallet decking systems will also help with any broken or misplaced pallets from falling through your beam levels.
This range of pallet decking is perfect to spice up your pallet racking arrangement and gives you the choice to design your racking to best suit requirements.
Timber vs Wire Mesh Decks for Pallet Racking
Strength:
Steel is well know for its strength, but wood is strong too. One downfall you could face with timber pallet deck strength is, if there are any spillages, the timber would soak up the moisture. Unlike the wire decking, where any spillages can be wiped up easily without any long lasting damage
Hygiene:
Timber pallet decking could lead to high cleaning maintenance, due to dust build-up which can become a hygiene issue. Wire decks can still become an issue with collecting dust, but are much easier to clean
Fire Safety:
Wire decking is preferred as it allows smoke and heat to rise, setting off your alarm and sprinklers. To then allow the water to fall through into your racking areas. Wire decking gives you a better visual to where the fire is, aiding your employees with the best route to exit.
Storage:
Timber pallet decking is ideal for storing all types and sizes of pallets, as with the wire mesh. but it brings the added bonus of enabling you to store any loose stock, stillages and boxes
Please ensure that your floor is safe and strong enough to take the load of your racking and its contents.
We can also supply an anti-collapse system for your pallet racking that is the strongest on the market and provides a durable barrier against accidents caused by goods falling from or being mistakenly knocked off pallet racks. It is made from fully welded mesh and steel frames and is available in three models with different levels of protection. Anti-collapse panels are easy to mount using sturdy brackets that fit the majority of pallet racks, please call us to find out more.
In order to help you meet Health and Safety Guidelines, we can arrange SEMA approved rack inspections, please call our installation specialists on 0808 274 9657 for more information.
